Usually, when there is excess weight in the body, the most affected are the knees, feet and hips. These are the joints that carry much of the pressure and the tension.

Arthritis affects the joints and a great way to treat it is by applying hot and cold packs in the morning and in the night to the affected areas. This can make a huge difference in alleviating the pain as well as inflammation. Usually, it is recommended to apply a cold pad on the joints before going to sleep. In the morning, it is recommended to apply a warm pad to help ease any stiffness that the joints may be experiencing.

3. Turmeric
According to the Arthritis Association, turmeric, or the active chemical within, known as curcumin, can reduce joint pain and swelling in patients with several forms of arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, osteoarthritis, etc.) by stopping inflammatory cytokines and enzymes, which are known pain and inflammatory receptors in the body. A 2010 clinical study found that patients using turmeric supplements experienced significant improvement in pain reduction and improved mobility within a few weeks of taking the supplements.
